FT1

Variations on Frank Thrower's commemorative tankard FT1 were produced annually between 1967 and 1992. The shape remained the same but the large seal applied to the body changed according to the subject being commemorated. In the first year they were produced in Kingfisher, Midnight and colourless, but only in colourless after 1969.

They were produced in limited numbers of between 5 and 10,000. Some were limited editions, sometimes engraved by Kim Thrower with an individual number -(alongside this glass work Kim Thrower also undertook private commissions for larger scale engravings and paintings including the glass skylight at Bertorelli's Restaurant Covent Garden). FT105 Barbican Tankard

Designed by Kim Thrower in 1969 Barbican tankards are wider and more squat and commemorate the founding of Dartington Glass 1977,the Investiture of the Prince of Wales 1969, the Mayflower 1970, King Eadearre and Anglis Regem Sicno Fateris Evnde.
